1. What is the cost of parking at meters?
The cost of parking at meters is 25 cents for thirty minutes for short term and long term except for the following: Royal Theatre Lot — parking is 25 cents for one hour Broad St., between Franklin St. and Bloomfield Avenue, - parking is 25 cents per 20 minutes Bloomfield Avenue, between Municipal Plaza and Clark St. — parking is 25 cents per 20 minutes.
2. How long are long-term meters and where are they located?
The long term meters have a capacity up to 12 hours of parking. They are located on Lackawanna Plaza, the Royal Theatre Lot, Burroughs Place, and Glenwood Avenue by Watsessing Park on both sides of the street, the Bloomfield Avenue Lot, and Westinghouse Plaza by the Watsessing Avenue train station. Please refer to the Map of Facilities which shows all the locations of long term meter parking.
3. If a meter is broken, where can I report it?
If you park at a broken meter, you can call (973) 680-8960 to report the problem or go to the Contact Us page of this website to file your complaint by email. Please have the number posted on the meter and its location, when reporting the problem. A meter technician will be sent, as soon as reasonably possible, to check the meter and repair it if necessary. It is always best to call within 24 to 48 hours after the discovery of a broken meter so the repair can be performed. A maintenance log is kept of all repairs on meters, whether reported by the public or a member of the parking staff.
4. Where is the permit parking for the train located?
The permit parking is located in the Farrand St. Lot by the Bloomfield Avenue train station at the intersection of Farrand and Washington Streets. This lot is restricted to Bloomfield residents and business people of Bloomfield. Another permit lot is the Myrtle St. lot located on Myrtle St. by the Watsessing Avenue train station. This lot has permit for both resident and non-resident. There are waiting lists for both lots.
5. How much is permit parking?
Permit parking at the Farrand St. Lot is $200 for every six months. Permit parking at the Myrtle St. Lot is $100 for every six months for resident and $200 for every six months for non-residents. There are various other permit spaces in other lots available to business people to park which vary in price. 6. How can I be entered on the waiting list for a permit?
Separate lists currently exist for the Farrand St. Lot and Myrtle St. Lot. An entry form can be downloaded for the proper waiting list under the Forms page on this website. You may enter both waiting lists if you wish.
7. How is the order of the waiting list established?
The order of each waiting list is established by the order of the entry forms received. Each entry form is time stamped when received and entered on the indicated list in the order received. A verification form with the number assigned is sent to each individual entered on each list for their records. A book of all entry forms received is kept for confirmation purposes if there are any questions regarding the entry of an individual on either list. Once permits are available, notices are sent in order of the list for that permit.

9, What are the hours of operation?
The hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm. We are closed on major holidays and any weekend close to those holidays. Please see the schedule under News and Events.
